Prince George – The BC Liberals have provided input into the terms of reference for the upcoming wildfire/flooding review based on the first-hand experience MLAs gathered.
“A review is timely and important, as there are lesson to be learned as to what went wrong, what worked and what can be improved – in particular when it comes to providing ongoing support for those impacted,” says Nechako Lakes MLA John Rustad.
“Our hope is the government will accept these recommendations in the spirit they are intended – to help those who suffered the most and do everything possible to prevent a reoccurrence. Our MLAs live in the ridings which have been hardest hit, we hear the heartbreaking stories and how they hope the government will listen to them. This is an opportunity to do a review devoid of politics and focused on helping people and communities rebuild.”
Attached is the letter from Rustad and Cariboo-Chilcotin MLA Donna Barnett.
