COQUITLAM (June 24, 2019) – Coquitlam-Burke Mountain MLA Joan Isaacs has been selected as one of two Senior Advocates in Canada for 2019, by the organization Home Instead Senior Care.
This award recognizes her outstanding work in her prior capacity as Official Opposition Critic for Seniors Care, and her continued active support and involvement since becoming Assistant Deputy Speaker.
“Joan Isaacs has been a tireless advocate for seniors in the province of British Columbia,” said Doug Mix, owner of the Home Instead Senior Care office serving the Tri-Cities.
“Not only has she championed the push for access to a high-dose flu vaccine, but she has also advocated for appropriate standards of care that would improve quality of life for seniors. Joan has toured care homes with a focus to understand the challenges and opportunities to give seniors and their families a much-needed voice at the provincial level.”
“I am incredibly honoured to be receiving this award,” said Isaacs. “Seniors built our province and our communities and we owe it to them to ensure they have the best care, to help them live their best lives possible.”
