BC Liberal Statement on New Year’s Day

PRINCE GEORGE (December 31, 2020) – Interim Leader of the Official Opposition, Shirley Bond, released the following statement today for New Year’s Day:

“Tonight, British Columbians will ring in a new year following what has proved to be a very challenging 2020 for people in our province and around the world.

“While many of us usually spend New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day with family and loved ones, COVID-19 and public health restrictions will mean most British Columbians won’t get to do that this year.

“It is my hope that 2021 will mark a positive turning point as the COVID-19 vaccine continues to be distributed, but progress is only possible as long as well all keep up our collective responsibility to one another by following public health orders.

“There is still work to be done, but if 2020 has proved anything, British Columbians have demonstrated their strength and resilience as together we can tackle even the most difficult situations.

“As we look forward to the arrival of 2021, on behalf of the entire BC Liberal Caucus I want to wish everyone a safe, healthy, and happy new year!”
