VICTORIA (December 3, 2019) – Leader of the Official Opposition, Andrew Wilkinson, released the following statement today for the International Day of Persons with Disabilities:
“Today we join British Columbians across the province in celebrating inclusion and promoting the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.
“People living with disabilities can face many barriers that prevent their full participation in communities throughout the province. We all must recognize that more work still needs to be done to ensure greater accessibility and inclusion here in British Columbia.
“The BC Liberal Caucus strongly believes all persons with disabilities should have barrier-free access to that full and equal participation in society. We will continue to work towards increasing the accessibility of services, workplaces, public spaces, schools, playgrounds, and communities throughout the province.
“When we strengthen supports and eliminate barriers to accessibility, our communities become stronger as a whole.”
