VICTORIA (March 6, 2018) – Parksville-Qualicum MLA Michelle Stilwell helped kick off the second annual Spinal CSF Leak Awareness Week (Leak Week) in the Legislature today.
“This week marks an important campaign to help raise awareness about our spinal health,” says Stilwell, who spent time in the hospital last year to treat a cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak. “I’m thankful that we have experienced health care professionals here in British Columbia who are able to treat these complex spinal conditions. However, we need to keep raising awareness and educating people to shorten delays to the correct diagnosis and treatment.”
Stilwell will address the Legislative Assembly today about her experience with spinal health and the Legislature will be lit up in purple tonight in recognition of Leak Week.
