OLIVER (June 26, 2019) – The B.C. government has created an online survey and is finally asking British Columbians to share their input on daylight saving time (DST).
Both Washington and California, which are British Columbia’s largest west coast trading partners, have recently put forward legislation to stop time-changing and maintain DST all year.
Boundary-Similkameen MLA Linda Larson introduced three private member’s bills to keep British Columbia on DST since municipal officials first raised the idea in 2017.
“The government has made little progress on this issue in two years and now is the time to act,” says Larson. “I encourage everyone to fill out the survey and finally have your voice heard by the government.”
The deadline to complete the survey is July 19th. It can be found at https://engage.gov.bc.ca/daylightsavingtime/.
